Two Fleurieu live music venues are among 20 to receive grants through the state government See It LIVE Music Activation Fund.
A total of $850,000 in grants will be provided to live music venues to support costs associated with the presentation of live music.
Goolwa’s Murray Delta Juke Joint and Big Easy Radio in Aldinga Beach were two of the three regional venues to score a boost, along with 13 based in the CBD and four in Adelaide suburbs.
Through a new collaboration between the Music Development Office and the Office for Small and Family Business, recipients of the fund will also receive free business advisory services to support the sector’s long-term sustainability.
Arts Minister Andrea Michaels says the state government recognises the importance of dedicated live music venues in South Australia.
“Our live music venues play a vital role in supporting the careers of emerging artists and contribute significantly to the cultural life of our state - reflected through our designation as a UNESCO City of Music.
“The See It LIVE Music Activation Fund brings together two areas of my portfolio, the Music Development Office and the Office of Small and Family Business, to provide targeted funding and business support to ensure a more sustainable future for our venues in the longer term.”
